Pupil Voice & School Council

Pupil voice is central to everything we do, and our School Council plays a vital role in shaping our school community. Each September, children from Year 2 to Year 6 put themselves forward for election. After preparing and sharing speeches with their peers, a democratic vote takes place to elect two representatives per year group. Throughout the year, the Council meets regularly with staff to discuss matters that matter most to them and help leaders deliver impactful projects.

A prime example of this in action was during the 2025–2026 academic year, when our School Council led a whole-school election to rename all of our classes after animals—a democratic initiative designed to strengthen unity and boost every child's sense of belonging. Our pupils truly are history makers!
