Ofsted and SIAMS
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills and is a non-ministerial department of His Majesty's government, reporting to Parliament. Ofsted is responsible for inspecting a range of educational institutions, including state schools and some independent schools, in England. They inspect services providing education and skills for learners of all ages. You can find our most recent OFSTED report below.
As a method of ensuring that schools are complying with these standards, all church schools are subject to a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the Church school's Christian vision on pupils and adults. This involves looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish.
