PSHE and RSE

At our school, Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) are an important part of helping children develop into confident, respectful and responsible members of society.

We use the Kapow Primary (KAPOW) scheme of work to support the delivery of PSHE and RSE across the school. As a mixed-age primary school, we have carefully adapted the programme to ensure that learning is progressive, age-appropriate and meets the needs of pupils within each class.

Through our PSHE and RSE curriculum, children learn about:

  • Building positive and respectful relationships
  • Physical and mental health and wellbeing
  • Keeping safe, both online and offline
  • Respecting differences and celebrating diversity
  • Personal development, aspirations and citizenship
  • Growing and changing as they move through childhood

Lessons provide opportunities for discussion, reflection and problem-solving in a safe and supportive environment. Our approach encourages children to develop resilience, empathy, confidence and the skills needed to make informed choices about their lives.

The curriculum is delivered in line with statutory guidance and reflects our school values, ensuring that all children are prepared for life in modern Britain while feeling valued, respected and supported throughout their learning journey.

Parents and carers are welcome to speak with the school if they would like further information about our PSHE and RSE curriculum.
